Back at it again, young Southern California rapper Holladay teams up with hip hop phenom Young Drummer Boy on their new track “Ghetto”. Holladay, AKA Oscar Carbajal, starts his verse off with the line “Being young and latino, harder than you think so”. Carbajal strongly embraces his Mexican heritage, educating himself about Cesar Chavez, Ruben Salzar and even giving a shoutout to Latina feminists at the beginning of his video for “Classroom”. After Holladay showcases his skills as a captivating storyteller, Young Drummer Boy pays homage to the title of the track, delivering clever rhymes about his struggle growing up in the ghetto & rolling doobies by the freeway. Joined by Holladay’s brother, a rising producer known as Key Styles, “Ghetto” has the perfect vibe; a crisp beat with flowing, culturally-conscious lyrics.
