BIO
A powerhouse performer, a
captivating songwriter and an ascending artist with a dynamic musical vision:
Beatriz Gonzalez delivers big sounds from a small town.
The Rio Grande Valley, located at the southernmost tip of Texas along the border of Mexico, is blessed with a rich musical heritage of Grupero, Norteño, Tejano and Folklorico traditions. Growing up, Beatriz absorbed these regional styles and drew inspiration from a wide spectrum of additional genres, from opera to pop; rap to reggaetón. These influences would be distilled into her singular musical identity. Since age three, Beatriz has sung with Mariachi groups. As a senior in high school, she was invited to join the distinguished University of Texas Pan American Mariachi. As a vocalist and a musician performing on guitar and vihuela, she played shows with artists including Gabriela Beltran, Mariachi Vargas and Mariachi Sol de Mexico. Envisioning that becoming a music educator would be her destiny, Beatriz enrolled in college. She also made her first trip to Los Angeles to perform on a music competition television show. “They flew me out for free,” she remembers. “And I always said that I would return.” But as an emerging artist, she didn’t wait for anyone to do it for her. In Texas, Beatriz put together a complete presentation: enlisting a producer, musicians, a recording studio and a video crew. “It was a process,” she says. Releasing her music independently, she reached out via Twitter to Los Angeles-based Silent Giant Entertainment who contacted her immediately and finalized a deal. Now with hundreds of thousands of YouTube views, and plans for new upcoming releases, Beatriz Gonzalez is poised to make a significant impact. She says that she envisions her songs as inspiration to others – especially young women in search of empowerment. “I want my music to have depth, force and power,” says Beatriz. “I have one goal in life and this is it: I hope that my music serves as motivation for everyone to give 100 percent, to believe in their own personal importance, and to have the confidence to get noticed.” Discography
