BioBorn in Glendora, California, and raised in San Bernardino, Elvia Cadena grew up surrounded by music that would shape her into the powerhouse vocalist she is today. From singing alongside her mother at home to joining her church choir as a child, Elvia’s voice has always been her way of telling stories; stories that resonate deeply with those who hear them.
Life presented obstacles, becoming a teenage mom meant putting her musical dreams on hold. At 24, a turning point came when a friend from her church Mariachi group reached out, inviting her to join their trio. This sparked her return to music, performing at restaurants, quinceañeras, and carnivals, rebuilding her confidence and reigniting the passion that would drive her career forward. Her sound is a soulful fusion of Rancheras, R&B, 50s Mexican rock & roll, and oldies-but-goodies, blending the timeless warmth of Chicana soul with a modern edge. Inspired by both her cultural roots and a love for nostalgic melodies, Elvia’s music effortlessly crosses borders and genres. Elvia has shared the stage with legends like Brenton Wood, Mayer Hawthorne, The Delfonics, Baby Bash, Amanda Perez, Thee Sinseers, and The Sacred Souls. She has graced major stages, from the Toyota Arena to The Greek Theatre, where she opened for Los Lonely Boys, and has captivated audiences at Lowrider Super Shows across California. A career highlight includes collaborating with the late Rudy Salas of Tierra, who penned her original song “The Best Thing That Ever Happened”, as well as working with Aalon, the Rock & Roll Gangster, on her cover of “There Must Be a Better Way.” These collaborations speak to her artistry’s depth and the respect she has earned from musical greats. Currently, Elvia is working closely with Silent Giant Entertainment on her upcoming EP, a project that promises to showcase her lyrical abilities, expand her original catalog, and solidify her place as a unique voice in Chicana music. Her next single, “I’m Going Crazzy”, is a cinematic heartbreak anthem inspired by the cult classic Cry-Baby, blending retro aesthetics with raw, soul-baring storytelling. Elvia wants listeners to feel what she feels, to connect, to heal, to remember.
